Pressure Cooker Fried Chicken Recipe

Pressure cooker fried chicken recipe tastes similar to your favorite fried chicken at restaurants. Here is a great recipe to prepare home-made fried chicken using a pressure cooker.

Required Ingredients

• Chicken- one whole (cut into pieces)
• Flour- ½ cup
• Pepper- ½ tsp
• Paprika- ½ tsp
• Salt- 1 tbsp
• Shortening- ½ cup
• Onion- ¼ cup (diced)
• Water 1 ¼ cups

Method

You can use a 6 quarts pressure cooker for the above measurements. To start off with, blend all the ingredients in a food bag, add the chicken pieces to it and shake well. Add shortening to the pressure cooker and fry the seasoned chicken pieces in the same way as you would do it in a frying pan; do not close the lid. Once this is done, use the rack in the pressure cooker and put the chicken pieces on the rack. Close the lid; wait for the cooker to reach pressure, simmer the heat for around 15 minutes. After this, take away the cooker from the stovetop and allow it to stand till he sizzling sound stops. Now, run cold water on top of the cooker to get rid of the pressure completely. Pressure cooker fried chicken is now ready to be served. You can also freeze it and re-heat when required.
